Sweet and romantic

I finally made it to the Lilly Piri show at Lamington Drive before it closed – and before the seasonal madness sucked me into its vortex (said vortex consists of eating ridiculous amounts of compound chocolate on a daily basis, making excuses to eat out every night and generally slacking off under the guise of ‘Christmas’). The gallery had piped birdie noises into the gallery, which were pleasant to listen to, and they had also installed some of Lilly’s bird sculptures on branches in between the artwork, making the whole atmosphere distinctly woodland. It was all very cute and super girly. There’s no doubting Lilly Piri’s dexterity with a pencil and pen, but my inner tomboy wasn’t quite sure about it all.

The exhibition runs until the 23 December (ie tomorrow) at Lamington Drive in Melbourne.
